QuickNote — Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the QuickNote — Voice & Text Notes Chrome Extension (“QuickNote”, “the Extension”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Extension. By installing, signing in to, or otherwise using QuickNote, you agree to the terms described in this document.
- Information We Collect
To provide account-based features (sign in, subscription status, and daily note limits), QuickNote collects and stores the following on our servers:
- Email address — used as your account identifier and to send you password-reset verification codes (OTPs).
- Password — never stored in plain text. Passwords are one-way hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption before being stored. We cannot see or recover your original password at any time.
- Account metadata — such as your active note count, premium/subscription status, and account creation date, used solely to enforce the free-plan note limit and unlock premium features.
- Password-reset data — a temporary one-time verification code (OTP) and its expiry time, generated only when you request a password reset, and deleted automatically once used or expired.
Important: The actual text content of the notes you create (what you type or speak) is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Your note content is stored locally within your Google Chrome browser, using Chrome’s built-in storage system, as explained in Section 2.
- Where Your Notes Are Stored
QuickNote uses Google Chrome’s native storage APIs (chrome.storage.sync, with an automatic fallback to chrome.storage.local if sync is unavailable or its quota is exceeded) to save your notes. This means:
- Your notes are associated with the Google Account you are signed in to within Chrome itself (the browser-level sign-in, separate from your QuickNote email/password login), not with your QuickNote email/password login.
- Notes will only appear on another device if that device’s Chrome browser is signed in to the same Google Account with Chrome Sync enabled. Logging into QuickNote with the same email and password on a different browser or device, where a different (or no) Google Account is signed in to Chrome, will not transfer or display your previously created notes.
- We do not have access to, and cannot view, back up, or recover, the content of your notes at any time, as this data never passes through our servers.
- Third-Party Services We Use
QuickNote relies on the following third-party service providers to operate certain features. When you use these features, limited data is shared with them solely to perform the relevant function:
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — used to deliver transactional emails, specifically the OTP verification code sent during password reset. Your email address and the OTP are shared with Brevo for this sole purpose.
- Lemon Squeezy — used as our third-party payment processor to handle premium subscription purchases. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details; all payment information is handled directly and securely by Lemon Squeezy under its own privacy policy and terms.
- Subscription Plans & Pricing
QuickNote offers the following plans:
- Free Plan — allows creation of up to 10 active notes per account, at no cost. Deleting a note (soft delete or permanent delete) frees up space within this limit.
- Premium Plan — removes the 10-note limit, allowing unlimited note creation. $2.99 USD per month at prevailing exchange rates. The USD equivalent is provided for reference only and will fluctuate with currency markets; the actual amount charged is always in Indian Rupees (₹299/month) via our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time via the subscription management link provided by Lemon Squeezy at the time of purchase or in your confirmation email. Upon cancellation, premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- All payments are processed exclusively by Lemon Squeezy. QuickNote does not store, process, or have access to your card or banking details.
- How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and maintain your signed-in session.
- To enforce the free-plan note limit and to unlock unlimited note creation for premium subscribers.
- To send password-reset OTP codes when you request a password reset.
- To process and verify premium subscription status via our payment processor.
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
- Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect stored account data, including password hashing (bcrypt), server-side input validation, restricted file access to sensitive configuration data, and rate-limiting on password-reset requests (maximum 3 OTP requests per 24-hour period, with a limit of incorrect verification attempts per OTP) to reduce the risk of abuse. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your QuickNote account email and password.
- You are responsible for keeping Chrome Sync enabled and signed in to the correct Google Account on each device where you wish to access your existing notes.
- You are responsible for backing up any note content you consider important, using your own means (e.g., copying text elsewhere), since QuickNote does not maintain a server-side backup of note content.
- Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
QuickNote is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer(s) of QuickNote make no warranty that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any notes, account data, or subscription data will not be lost, corrupted, delayed, or otherwise affected by circumstances including but not limited to: Chrome Sync failures or quota limits, browser or extension updates, uninstallation of the Extension, device loss or damage, Google account changes, network or third-party service (Brevo, Lemon Squeezy) outages, or any other technical failure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
